One of my boys noticed when I tucked a few puzzles into my luggage while packing for my recent weekend trip to Portland and he asked if I was going to work on a puzzle with Pa (my dad) while I was there. “Not enough time,” I said, but I was planning on a puzzle exchange! As it turned out, there was a small puzzle in my room and I DID get it done. It was much more challenging than it looks. Some of the pieces fit together incorrectly and so I actually worked on it longer and more intentionally than I expected. I was a little bit baffled at one point and wondered if a piece was missing, though my dad said that it was not (the puzzle had spilled to the floor and he’d counted all 50 pieces just before I arrived). Leaning into the reality then that these are the pieces I’ve got to work with and they all fit together somehow…I kept on, eventually unhooking a set of pieces that I thought were correctly in place. I turned hem 90 degrees to see if they would snap into the whole differently than I thought and Surprise!! They clicked into place and the rest of the pieces fit from there. Once again….As in puzzles, So in life.
Now for the season of real life hummingbirds!!
