I got this puzzle for my birthday in November, but had a couple seasonal puzzles to complete first.
Finally! January 1 and I got to the chicken puzzle. I work my puzzles on a board that I can push under the couch when I need it out of the way.
I’d just opened this puzzle box, dumped the pieces on the board, and barely begun the sorting on New Year’s weekend when some friends stopped by. While we were in the living room visiting, Ginger sat down with us, next to my puzzle board (which was not shoved under the couch). At some point in our conversation we all heard her crunching on something and looked over to see what she was eating.. Nobody had given her any treats and there was no food stuff on our floor!
At 9.5 years old, Ginger is long past chewing on things she’s not supposed to and she has NEVER eaten a puzzle piece. But…..I couldn’t shake the possibility as I began working this puzzle in earnest. As the edge eventually came together, all but one piece, my suspicion grew. Finally the puzzle complete…..indeed, there is no other explanation. Ginger – our dog who is remarkably patient with our actual live chickens – SHE ATE A PIECE OF MY CHICKEN PUZZLE.
